The family leader
In every household there is at least one proverbial protector. The “man of the house ” so to speak or the Warrior whom takes up the responsibility of not only leadership to everyone else, but also the protector of the “tribe” and the castle (a man’s home is his castle). It would do great service to the other members of the tribe if this individual actually possessed some training or skills in this realm, opposed to “thinking” they know what they are doing and not knowing nothing. The ego must be put aside for the fortification and preservation of the castle and its inhabitants. Besides some knowledge of how to defend the castle and other skills of protecting those inside, the warrior needs to have a few rudimentary plans in place in case of emergency. Does the family know what to do in the home is forced into by a burglar or a home invasion? Do they know what to do if the home catches fire ? What if someone becomes ill or injured? Having a escape plan, a self-defense plan, and a emergency action plan are all fundamentals for anyone with a family.
The warrior of the household has to train and inform the others of what the emergency action plans are, and make sure the others know what to do and will act without hesitation. This is training and those whom know are responsible for training the others. This turns a potential liability into an asset. As the warrior, is it better to have a group of untrained people with you in an emergency (whom are panicking) or is it better to have a disciplined and focused group of people whom can handle themselves? If you are not an asset you are a liability. Liabilities place more stress and danger on the individual whom is trained. As a warrior, you want teammates, not victims you have to save from something. Should in the chaos you get separated from them, they could fend for themselves until you got to them or they got to safety. Together you would make a team that would be hard to beat, watching each other’s backsides and flanks or serving some other purpose like calling 911, providing first aid until help arrives, fighting off attackers or whatever. Depending on the makeup of those in your group and their capabilities that would be compared to your situation of how your home is set up. That would dictate how you plan.
Action plans extend beyond the home, if the kids go out, they should in pairs. Martial arts training is also good for them too. Plans for what may could happen if out in public and something happens, of in the car together and a accident happens, the scenarios are wide reaching and it is better to have some kind of plan, opposed to not being ready at all. Think on this and be ready.
